SUGGESTED HOST INTRO
Violinist Hilary Hahn once performed on the Tonight Show and her appearance just happened to coincide with the late night show's little hosting drama. That issue aside, her strategy for playing in front of a huge audience of 100's of thousands is to not play for that huge audience.
CLIP TRANSCRIPT
"Well, when I play for a TV audience, I play for the Studio audience because I can't see the people, who are, you know, behind their TVs. I can't feel whether they're into the performance or not, but I can immediately sense a reaction in the room that tells me whether people are involved or not. And if they're involved, and they're drawn in...they're enjoying it, then that's inspiring to me. And if I don't feel that kind of reaction, then I try very hard to get that reaction, so I go in maybe a different direction and try something a little more creative than I thought I would do or try creating something else with my interpretation."
