Provides a local perspective on Democratic presidential candidate Al Sharpton, exploring his controversial rise from activist to politician. This is part of a 9-part series called: Home-State Record. VPR is working with seven public radio stations to coordinate a national project that provides listeners with an in-depth look at the home-state records of the Democratic presidential candidates. VPR engaged a local public radio journalist in the candidates' home states to produce a four-and-a-half-minute news story providing a unique look at each candidate's record.
