Intro and Outro

INTRO:

THE IDEA OF KEEPING OUR DOLLARS CLOSE TO HOME BY SHOPPING LOCAL IS PICKING UP SPEED, WITH LOCAL FOODS INCREASING IN POPULARITY AND AVAILABILITY. BUT FUEL THAT COMES FROM OUR OWN BACKYARDS MAY BE HARDER TO UNDERSTAND. THE THREE-MAN TEAM AT MAINE STANDARD BIOFUELS IS HOPING TO CHANGE THAT. THEY MAKE BIODIESEL, WHICH CAN BE USED TO POWER CARS AND HEAT HOMES, FROM THE USED GREASE RESTAURANTS THROW OUT. THEY’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROVIDING A LOCAL, RECYCLED FUEL OPTION TO MAINERS AND THEY’VE PUT EVERYTHING THEY’VE GOT INTO THE PROJECT. BUT MAKING ENDS MEET HASN’T BEEN EASY, AND IN A TOUGH ECONOMY, THEY NEED SOMETHING TO GIVE. PRODUCER CAITLIN ALLEN HAS THE STORY.
