Piece Description

Do you talk to your children about drug and alcohol abuse?

Do you share stories of relatives who have struggled with addiction, or are those stories kept secret?

No matter where you fall on the spectrum, this week's show will provide a forum for discussion for family members of all ages.

Mike's guests are Dr. Joseph Lee, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and adolescent addiction specialist at Hazelden, the addiction treatment center based in Minnesota, and Christine Anderson, a Hazelden spokesperson.

Their conversation ranges from how the pubic face of addiction has changed from generation to generation to why an addict's family must be a part of treatment in order to create real change to what Dr. Lee tells teens about the debate to legalize marijuana.

Then … In case you hadn't noticed - all the umpires in Major League Baseball (like all the players so far) are men.
Perry Barber - a 56-year-old woman who's been umpiring baseball games for almost half of her life - hopes that changes in her lifetime.

In the meantime, she'll continue her groundbreaking work as a female umpire in events from MLB exhibition games to Mets spring training.

Tune in to learn more about Perry, including her unlikely path to the baseball diamond, her favorite rule (hint: it's number 902), and whether the native New Yorker prefers the Mets or the Yankees.
