An audio postcard of springtime prescribed burning.
This is a sound-rich piece from a forest where a prescribed burn was taking place. There is no narrative, and the burners themselves tell what they're doing and why they're doing it.
In this piece, you meet an elderly woman -- retired 11 years, volunteering to help the crew set fires. Throughout the piece, the listener hears evidence of her, well, desire to burn things. It culminates with her wondering what the microphone would sound like if it went up in flames!

Review of Fire-lighter -- a little too close!
Fun piece about an older volunteer helping to perform controlled burns. This woman knows her stuff and it's almost scary how much she enjoys her work. PDs, this is a fun piece your listeners will enjoy, especially during the spring.
