Provides insight into Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark, from the perspective of his supporters and detractors in the military. This is part of a 9-part series called: Home-State Record. VPR is working with seven public radio stations to coordinate a national project that provides listeners with an in-depth look at the home-state records of the Democratic presidential candidates. VPR engaged a local public radio journalist in the candidates' home states to produce a four-and-a-half-minute news story providing a unique look at each candidate's record. Participating journalists/stations include: Josh Rogers of New Hampshire Public Radio on Wesley Clark); VPR's John Dillon (profiling Howard Dean); Julie Donnelly, formerly of WUNC and now a Boston-based freelance journalist (profiling John Edwards); Matt Sepic of KWMU (profiling Dick Gephardt); WFCR's Susan Kaplan (profiling John Kerry); Vincent Duffy of WKSU (profiling Dennis Kuccinich); WNPR-Connecticut Public Radio's Heather Clayborne (profiling Joe Lieberman); Jenny Lawton of WBEZ-Chicago Public Radio (profiling Carol Moseley Braun) and WNYC's Jim Colgan (profiling Al Sharpton). This nine-part news series will be uploaded December 8, 2003 for station use at no charge.
