Summary: A two-hour special that chronologically follows The Beatles through 1969 and 1970 as they record their final tracks, struggle with their company, squabble with each other, pursue other interests, and ultimately split apart.
An audio Beatles history, that's a pleasure to hear. Loved remembering where I was (Jr Jigh school, in N. Idaho), 1969. How could I forget that Led Zeppelin's first album released, just as the Beatles broke up?
Someone here calls this 'the demise of a great rock band.' Well, I'm just glad to have an audio record, and enjoyed all the bits and pieces.
I stumbled upon the broadcast by accident and am so glad that I had the opportunity to hear the program. The writers/producers' use of framing the historical record of events with contemporary commentaries was effective. I enjoyed hearing about the cultural forces and personal struggles that shaped the Beatles' last year together. Thanks for weaving the elements into an elegant, coherent, and intimate story. After listening to the broadcast, I sat and realized that I'd just heard a kind of eulogy commemorating the life cycle of the Beatles. The broadcast evoked a bit of sadness, nostalgia, and celebration of the Beatles contribution to the human story. Fantastic!
I missed this when it aired on my local NPR station (KUT in Austin), so i ended up here after searching for it online. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Well done!

Quality music and history; a good 'listen'
