In this first of three one-hour programs featuring the Swingle Singers, producer/host Fred Flaxman plays Mozart's Symphony No. 40, alternating between the Swingle Singers' unique a cappella arrangements of each movement from their Virgin Classics CD and the original Mozart score as performed by the Tafelmusik Orchestra conducted by Bruno Weil from an Analekta compact disc.
The hour starts with the Turkish March from Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11, first performed by the Swingle Singers, then by German pianist Lars Vogt on an EMI recording. The program concludes with the Swingle Singer's interpretation of Mozart's Andante from his Piano Concerto No. 21.
