Polls showing increased support for marijuana decriminalization are just one sign that there’s a cultural shift taking place. Politicians, media pundits, even law enforcement agents are increasingly conceding that the so called ‘war on drugs’ has been an abysmal failure. On this edition, we hear from a former narcotics officer, and a leading drug reform activist, about the roots of America’s current drug policy. They tell the story of how we got to this point, and suggest how we might move forward, with more humane and effective laws.
