Paula: In Her Own Words

From: World Vision Report
Length: 04:47

The U.N. estimates three million Colombians have been displaced from their homes because of the ongoing war for land between guerrilla fighters, paramilitaries, and the government. Most of the internal refugees are children, whose lives have been turned upside down. Reporter Madeleine Bair met one young victim at a shelter for displaced people in the capital of Bogotá. She tells us her story, in her own words. A postscript: Since this piece was recorded, the shelter where Paula was staying has been closed down. Paula's family now lives in an apartment in a poor neighborhood in south Bogota, an area with many other displaced people. Read the full description.
