- Sudan Radio Project
The Islamic holy month of Ramadan ended recently, in late September. During Ramadan, Muslims across the world, including 31 million people in Sudan, observe a month-long period of fasting and dedicated prayer. For many Sudanese Muslims, Ramadan is a time of self-purification and personal reflection, but also of building relationships with family, friends, and neighbors. SRP's Chelsea Davis spoke with two Sudanese doctors who spent Ramadan this year far away from their loved ones, in Norway.
This piece first aired in "Speaking Out," on October 4, 2009.
