What is Hip? The musical history of the Tower of Power!
The Tower of Power has been entertaining their fans for more than 40 years. The band has its beginnings with Emilio Castillo and Stephen "Doc" Kupka after starting to perform in the San Francisco Bay area. Their first album was entitled East Bay Grease released in 1970. The second album was called Bump City, which included the hit "You're Still A Young Man". The third album was self titled which included "What Is Hip?', "So very Hard To Go", "This Time It's Real", and "Soul Vaccination". More albums and more hits followed. The Tower of Power horn section also was very active in performing behind many of the greats in the music business.
