Christopher Mercer, born in 1924 drove the Little Rock 9 to and from school back in 1957. He was the first attorney appointed deputy prosecuting attorney in any southern state and he advised Daisy Bates during the crisis at Central High. He is our older generation guest along with middle generation member Appeals Court Judge Wendell Griffen. Mr. Griffen was the first black attorney to be made partner in a major Arkansas firm. Our younger generation guest is Christian Davis who is an interpreter at the Central High National Historic Site. At 23, he is a Senior at UALR majoring in mass communications and public speaking.
