Saving the puffins is a tough job. But folks in Maine miss the colorful little birds resembling miniature penguins that can fly. Still plentiful throughout the rest of their North American habitat, they were hunted to extinction there. So in 1973, Audubon Seabird Restoration Program Director, Stephen Kress, began bringing them back. And each spring, teams of biologists camp out on a barren, treeless island outpost called Eastern Egg Rock to protect them...
