In regard to proposed government health insurance take-over legislation, President Obama made some rather revealing statements about where the money for this would come.  Did you catch it all?

 

He says in essence that 2/3 of the money for it is money that the American taxpayers are already on the tax hook for and that the other 1/3 will come in the form of NEW TAXES perhaps Robin-Hood style -- maybe (?), legislation for which is yet to be drafted.

 

President Obama is attempting to persuade the American people and its legislative representatives who can vote something in or out via the House and the Senate that a new government program that he overtakes will be able to work flawlessly whereas the old one has not.  He says the new one will cost 1/3 more and will need 1/3 more in taxes from somewhere -- which President Obama would like to convince us should be shouldered by the rich to support the poor.  But should we not take a lesson from history?

 

LBJ told the Americans that Medicare/Medicaid would only cost the taxpayers $500 Million per year.  Reports are revealing that he probably knew that was not true as overstrapped taxpayers wrestle with a weakened economy and an outrageous government deficit.

 

Some LBJ tapes were recently released in which LBJ can be heard complaining to Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts that those fools in the budget office went and projected the costs of Medicare six years down the line and I'm losing votes because of it.

 

If we had had good costs projections for Medicare, we believe it would never have won.

 

The President wants to sell a new government-run health-care plan that some say is really a government attempt to takeover the lucrative health-care / medical business.
