Alena Hromadkova came of age in communist Czechoslovakia. She grew up in a political-minded, anti-communist family and she had been investigating the communist system ever since she was a child.
On August 21st, 1968 she was a young woman living in Prauge. And she vividly remembers what happened that day when tanks began to roll through the streets of the city.
This story was produced in conjunction with a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship in the Czech Republic during 2008-2009.
