-Moon-Beams: Andantino
There are moon-beams and shadows in the Pixy-field;
and as midnight nears, the Pixy wakes from slumber.
-Toad-Stools: Molto moderato e grottesco
There are queer little Gnomes amongst the toad-stools,
and grasshoppers and field-mice keep them company.
-Tinkling Blue-Bells: Andante, ma non troppo
There are blue-bells that tinkle in the breeze, and fairy chimes too.
The glow-worm lights her tiny lamp, and the night-moth joins the throng.
-Pixy-Laden: Andante con moto
There is a human here, singing his favorite ditty.
The little folk too are in a merry mood.
The human is alarmed, his song erratic; he is Pixy-laden.
-The Ring-Dance: Allegro molto, vivace
There are revels in the Pixy-Ring. Gnomes, Elves and all join in The merry dance.

PROGRAM NOTES
A PIXY-RING, OPUS 23 # 1 By H. Waldo Warner (1874-1945)
H. Waldo Warner was a distinguished English violist and composer. He was the violist in the London String Quartet during its greatest days and had major success as a composer of chamber music. He won the Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Prize in 1921 for a piano trio and came to America to receive the $1000 prize. . He also had played at Mrs. Coolidge’s concert series in Pittsfield the year before with the London Quartet. The London String Quartet premiered A Pixy-Ring in New York’s Aeolian Hall. In November, 1921. Here is part of what Richard Aldrich of the Times said:
