Piece Description
The Jayhawks' mix of folk, americana and classic rock made them one of the most influential rock bands of the last 20 years. Band members Gary Louris and Mark Olson discuss their musical history and trajectory between clips of their best known songs and a few rare tracks. Other friends and collaborators Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), singer/songwriter/producer Joe Henry and American Recordings' label head Rick Rubin also comment. The host is Minnesota Public Radio, Bill DeVille, a longtime Twin Cities rock radio DJ who has hosted many on-air sessions with The Jayhawks since the late 1980s.
