Part One: WALKING A MILE IN THE SHOES OF ANOTHER - I Once in a great while, events offer us a chance to reflect and an opportunity to forge a new and right relationship with the lands we live on and the neighbors we share this planet with. For Christians and Catholics this may provide the occasion to re-examine what we mean when we use the term "mission". Recently Robert Ambrose, the new C.O.O. of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, a Catholic organization devoted to overseas mission, recognized that it would be highly appropriate to experience the work of Maryknoll missioners. And the new Assistant General of Maryknoll's General Council, Reverend Paul Masson was delighted to bring Bob with him on a visit to his former parish in Juarez, Mexico. On today's program Bob Ambrose and Paul Masson discuss their shared experience.
Part Two: WALKING A MILE IN THE SHOES OF ANOTHER - II Father Paul Masson served a decade in Chile during the harrowing years of the Pinochet dictatorship followed by a decade as pastor of la Virgin de la Luz in Ciudad Juarez. But in recent years this Mexican border city has become so violent journalists now compare it to cities in Iraq and Afghanistan, so this trip to no small degree certified the dedication of both Paul and Bob. We return to our discussion with Bob Ambrose and Paul Masson.
