INTRO:

In the 1920’s record companies discovered a wealth of old time music talent in the south, and a southern audience for the music, too. So the companies searched for players to satisfy the appetite. With the Skillet Lickers, they not only found a group that pleased the fans, but one that would serve as a model for playing the music, decades later.
