English Colony Governance

Lead: Jamestown, Virginia, settled in 1607, was the first permanent English colony in America. The second was not far behind.
Nancy Egloff: “When the Virginia Company incorporated the Bermuda Islands under their 1612 charter they sent out a group of 60 settlers and a new governor to establish the first settlement there.”
