MUSIC

Murray Perahia transcript:
First of all, when you look at a piece of music if it’s as great as Bach, you feel that it’s contemporary and in that it talks about contemporary feelings, it talks about your emotions and um maybe even beyond your emotions, spirituality and things that you try to aspire to.

Helene Grimaud transcript:
There’s something about his music which is both incredibly humbling and very empowering in the music and it also makes you feel invincible in a sense so it’s a wonderful companion and that’s probably why people respond so strongly to it, yeah.

Eugene Drucker transcript:
The music does have tremendous power it feels to me at least like it’s very much part of the fiber of my being and that’s what keeps us going.

(*Music fades at 0:59.)

Suggested Host Outro:  Pianist Murray Perahia, pianist Hélène Grimaud and violinist Eugene Drucker celebrating Bach's birthday on (insert station/program name).
