Piece Description

JA: Hello, I’m Jad Abumrad.

RK: And I’m Robert Krulwich. We’re from Radio Lab.

JA: Now just imagine.  What if instead of on the radio, we came to your house.

[Knocking]
[Door creaking]

Woman: Hello.

RK: Oh hello, can we talk to you for just a minute about the philosophical complications of bioengineering.

[Baby crying]

Woman: I’m sorry, this is really not a good time right now.

[Door slam]

JA and RK: Oh.

[Knocking]
[Door opens]

Man: Yeah, what do you want?

JA: Just a thought or two about death.

[Door slam]

JA and RK: Ah, it’s kind of awkward.

JA: Yeah.

RK:  It might be better if we stay where we are.

JA: On the radio.

RK: That way we’re always here when you need us.

[Electronic music begins]

JA: Or not.
RK: This takes of course technology.

JA: Microphones.

RK: All kinds of…

JA: Radio signal  exciters.

RK: Power transmitters.

JA: Kick in a little to help us pay for it and we will stay where we are.

RK: We promise.

[Music to end. Fades out.]
