In November 1967 Martin Luther King delivered the Massey lectures on CBC Radio. The Masseys are a prestigious annual broadcast in which a noted Canadian or international scholar gives a weeklong series of lectures on a political, cultural or philisophical topic. King's title was "Conscience for Change." In the lectures, he talked about race relations, the war in Vietnam, youth and social action and non-violence as a tactic for social change.

This series of five lectures aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in November and December 1967.
Intro and Outro
INTRO:Today- the fifth and final Massey lecture from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The other four were recorded in a studio in Atlanta. But the fifth was something different. It was not a lecture, but a sermon that Dr. King delivered to his own church- the Ebenezer Baptist church in Atlanta, Georgia. It was Christmas Eve, 1967 and he took the opportunity to share his message of non-violence with a larger audience. To introduce it, here's Ken Haslam.
OUTRO:The fifth and final Massey lecture by Martin Luther King Jr. It aired on the program Ideas on CBC Radio on December 24th, 1967 at Dr. King’s own church- the Ebenezer Baptist church in Atlanta, Georgia.
Just over three months later Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.
