Series: A Musician's Life
From: WXPN
Length: 00:05:00

Warren Zanes has taught about contemporary music at the University level. He's also championed the educational program at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. But he also knows the music scene from the inside. In the 1980's he played in the Boston based band the Del Fuegos. He also has two solo albums under his belt. He talks to Tracey Tanenbaum on this edition of "A Musician's Life". Read the full description.

Warrenzanes_small Dan Zanes recruited his younger brother, Warren to play guitar in his garage rock band the Del Fuegos.  The 80's group had some success, but the itinerant life of a touring band wasn't for Warren.  Also, The volatile sibling chemistry may have helped the Del Fuegos' stage performance but it cost Warren personally.  He ultimately left the band.  Warren Zanes has become a writer and educator though he's also recorded some solo albums.  His latest book is called "Revolutions in Sound", about the first 50 years of the Warner Bros. record label.
