Active Voice Radio: Peter Karoff - Making Charitable Donations Count
From: Chris Goldstein
Length: 29:30
Welcome back here to Active Vice Radio this week with host Chris Goldstein.
This week as we approach the holiday season we're going to explore an essential activity of Americans at this time of year; philanthropic giving and charitable donations. The winter marks a time when many of us will donate canned goods, clothing, money or even time at a neighborhood or faith-based project to contribute to our communities. Many families make their annual charitable contributions at this time of year as well.
Of course the hard hit economy is going to limit the amount that most Americans give this year, but it will not stop entirely...We Americans have an incredible capacity for donating our time and money.
So what makes us give so much? Who gives the most? And how do individuals and families make perhaps smaller donations that still have a real impact?
Joining us tonight is the founder of the Philanthropic Initiative, Peter Karoff. He joined us here twice on Active Voice Radio in 2008 and in this interview he offers both history and modern insight into stretching those donated dollars. His newest book is The World We Want and links to it are on activevoiceradio.comMore from Chris Goldstein
