Piece Description
Telling Your Story – Recording Oral Histories at Home. In this program we’ll discover how easy recording a loved one can be, and how audio recordings can become a family treasure. David Isay the creator of StoryCorps will talk about the inspiration for that Oral History project touring the country this year and the National day of listening. We will look into what makes good questions and how to be a good listener with help from two storycorps facilitators. We’ll look into just what environment and equipment is needed to do this at home. I will also have numerous resources for you to tap into in your quest to do it yourself. And we will hear specific tips and ideas from Story Keepers a Montana based non profit organization. Join me for the next hour as we explore the process of capturing your stories on tape.

Great Layman's intro to Story RecordingGood intro to how to record and archive a story from a friend or family member. This is a great piece to play around the holidays, to encourage families that are going to gather to record the stories of family members who won't be around forever. |
