An entertainment and creativity development program for children and their families. Each section of the show provides an opportunity to participate in an expressive arts activity that supports a variety of child development skill areas.
The theme is frogs and the mood is light and up to date. We start with a "sing and dance-along" song that takes a contemporary twist with a traditional folk song. Then we’re ready for guided imagery activities including perception of textures, weightlessness, muscle input as well as developmental movement patterns of breath control, visual tracking across midline, lip closure and breath swallow coordination, balance in squat & full body extension.
Then change the pace with auditory imagery, movement to instrumental music and rhythm, with a classical violin piece.
Increase active involvement with laughter and language tricks.
The radio drama is titled The Frog That Loved to Jump: Which listens in on a frog and his mom down at waters edge. They have a conversation about how he grew up. Going through themes of hyperactivity and frog ontogeny.
Then we slow the pace for transition to closing with poetry that emphasizes sensation and emotion. Closing with a "personal" message.
