The 2008 Saga of Bayreuth

From: KBYU
Length: 00:57:55

1 hour of commentary and music about the 2008 Bayreuth Festival. Read the full description.

Bayreuth08001web_small "The 2008 Saga of Bayreuth," is a one hour program of interviews, commentary and music. Producer, Walter Rudolph is well acquainted with both the city of Bayreuth and its world-famed Festival. The program is designed to stand alone, but is also a perfect accompaniment for those stations carrying the two operas being offered by WFMT (Parsifal and Tristan und Isolde). It includes interviews with Daniele Gatti, the noted Italian conductor (Parsifal), and Robert Dean Smith (Tristan). The transition of power is featuered -- from Wolfgang Wagner to his two daughters (half-sisters) Eva Wagner-Pasquier and Katherina Wagner. There is also a brief recognition of the contributions of the retiring grandson of Richard Wagner, Wolfgang Wagner.
