Sly Crooner - Dancing Dan's Christmas - Part 1 of 2
From: Geoffrey Tozer
Series: Sly Crooner
Length: 28:30
The saga of Swanktown takes a short detour as Sly Crooner, your lounge companion, recalls a very special Christmas past. This is perfect special holiday programming as Christmas classic songs like Jingle Bells, Angels We Have Heard on High, The Wassail Song and We Three Kings are all given a modern and very swank treatment.
The story itself is a warm, if quirky, tale of three holiday revelers; Good Time Charley, Dancing Dan and, of course, Sly Crooner as they hatch an idea to spread some Christmas cheer in a most amusing way. Common sense is widely ignored as they are in it for the joy they can bring to the world, except for Dancing Dan who is in love with a mobster's doll and who ends up saving his own life. A classic Christmas theme.
This is the first half hour of a two part story. It is also available through PRX as a one hour special called Sly Crooner One Hour Christmas Special. Either way you get the full Damon Runyon story called Dancing Dan's Christmas with a swank spin.
Happy Holidays!
