Piece Description

This piece captures a glimpse of Barack Obama's Hawaiian Getaway during the 2008 presidential campaign.  After landing in Honolulu, Obama spoke at a rally, where he shared what he planned to do on vacation.  Obama's sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, explains why it's important for her brother to return to Hawaii.  But now when the Obamas come here to relax, the media follow them everywhere.  Mike Burley reflects on how he managed to snap the first photo of Obama walking along the beach, which ended up on the frontpage of The Honolulu Star-Bulletin.  And lifeguard, Peter Erwin, recalls what it was like to go bodysurfing with Obama at Sandy Beach.
