Bios:
Martha Burk is Money Editor for Ms. Magazine, and former Chair of the National Council of Women's Organizations in Washington, D.C. She is a syndicated columnist, and blogger for the Huffington Post. Dr. Burk serves an advisor to candidates on women's issues, and she appears regularly on national television and radio.
Recognized throughout the nation as a leading economic thinker, Dr. Heidi Hartmann is founder and President of the Institute for Women's Policy Research in Washington, D.C. Hartmann is a recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, commonly known as a "genius grant." She is the leading U.S. researcher on women and the economy, supplying data and statistics for members of Congress and policy leaders in the U.S. and around the world.
Congresswoman Linda Sanchez has represented the 39th district of California since 2003. She is the first Latina in history to serve on the Judiciary Committee, and the first woman to serve as Chair of the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law, and she also sits on the Subcommittee on Immigration. A co founder of the Labor and Working Families Caucus, Congresswoman Sanchez serves on the House Committee on Education and Labor, and also the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Cecile Richards is president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Over the course of her career, she has become a nationally recognized progressive leader and a fierce advocate for reproductive health and rights. Before joining Planned Parenthood, Ms. Richards served as deputy chief of staff for Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and played a key role in her election as the Democratic Leader in the House of Representatives. The daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards, Cecile Richards was raised in a family committed to social justice and public service.
