- Wrong Moment for Silence
- From
- Susan Barrett Price
Another moment of glory from my lo-on-ng childhood.
This scene crystalized pretty quickly -- one of those memories where you think back and say to yourself, "what a dolt." It goes along with my year's mission/theme of VOICE. With all the blabbing, chatter, and chit-chat going on in the world, how often do we simply use our own voice to express something important? What strangles and stifles us? Is it school? Is it puberty? What makes saying a coherent sentence in front of an audience worse than death itself?
Won "Truth, Dare or Joke #2" competition, responding to the call to "tell a time things were bad and then got worse." on :Vocalo, 89.5 FM in Chicago, Northwest Indiana & live online.
