Piece Description
Buddy Guy is now in his early seventies. He's the leading figure in Chicago blues; his new album "Skin Deep" reflects both his roots and his place in modern times. The album finds him in great form. This program also features new music from Hiromi's Sonicbloom, the four-piece group headed up by pianist Hiromi Uehara, from their new album "Beyond Standard" that re-invents some standard songs. Plus, we have the one non-standard from Cassandra Wilson's new album, and a Langston Hughes poem put to music by trumpeter Corey Wilkes on his new album. And -- James Taylor backup singer Arnold McCuller takes center stage with a new album "Sabor."
