The Mixed Race Promise Dmae Roberts
I grew up in rural Oregon at a time there was no name for my ethnicity--at least no name I wanted to use. Through the years, I called myself half-Asian, bi-racial, Amerasian, and more recently Mixed Race?
A couple years ago, someone said to me??so Mixed Race is the new cool?? At the time I didn?t know what to make of it? As a Mixed Race Asian I?ve gone through four decades of trying to figure out what to call myself but ?cool? was never a description I?d ever use. And then Barack ran for President?
