Peace Talks Radio: Can Compassion to Animals Promote Peace? (29:00)
Series: Peace Talks Radio - Series of Half-Hours
From: Good Radio Shows, Inc.
Length: 00:28:58
A significant number of adults convicted of violent crimes against people also have a history of violence and cruelty to animals. If we actively promoted more compassion to animals, to our children and to adults, would we be improving the chances for a more peaceful world overall? How can we be more alert to teaching moments that might help us all be more compassionate to animals? How far are you willing to go with your compassion? Could you also not kill a fly, a misquito, a mouse, or a gopher?
Peace Talks Radio host Carol Boss talks with a special panel about these questions: Buddhist scholar and meditation teacher Eric Kolvig, Heather Ferguson of New Mexico Animal Protection, Peggy Weigle with the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, and Beth Shapiro with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Buffalo, New York.
