Humphrey left his native Suriname on the NorthEastern coast of South America at the tender age of twelve. He returned but left again at the age of fifteen, but not after have very last look at his Dad who was shackled after an attempt to overthrow the government of his country.
Suriname was then part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and had become quite prosperous with an affluent population thanks to the bauxite mines and aluminum factories.
Hunphrey lived and grew up in Minnesota, shaping his identity and as he says in this interview, saw possibilities to develop himself further.
He applied and got a scholarship from Harvard where he took up law, business administration and philosophy.
As a business attorney he ended up in Silicon Valley but started his own global investment and capital venture companies.
