Piece Description

The Zapp String Quartet is Holland?s most sparkling, hardest grooving string ensemble. All Zapp members are improvisers and soloists in their own right and compose and arrange music for the quartet. Their approach is original, unconventional and always a pleasure to listen to. We captured the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw in a special concert, arranged for three young soloists: Robert Rook on piano, Milan Bonger on saxophones and Stefan Lievestro on double bass. The repertoire is a mix of newly arranged jazz standards and originals written by the three guest soloists. Daniel Frankl hosts.
