The North Sea Jazz Festival: EUROPEAN TALENT (Hour 2 of 5)
Piece Description
Daniel Frankl hosts three vocal concerts with highly individual singers from the US and Europe. Kurt Elling sang a heartfelt concert at last year?s North Sea Jazz Festival. It has been a while since he last visited North Sea, and you can tell he was happy to be back. With wonderful arrangements, inspiring lyrics, a great voice and strong band: everything?s right in this concert. Lydia van Dam has been around in the Dutch jazz scene for many years. Here?s a singer who knows what she wants to say and how to say it. The United Women?s Orchestra brought Michael Schiefel with them to the Music Meeting Festival in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Schiefel is a brilliant improviser and performer and the current hit in the jazz clubs of Berlin.
