I have completed listening to the series and enjoyed it so much. It is just what I needed.
I can't argue with your interpretations, in fact, I enjoyed your digging deep.
Although I don't have a religion, I have always enjoyed his songs that deal with the subject. In the case of "When the Deal Goes Down", I choose to think rather than a God, that this song is meant for a lover, sibling or friend (or just for me). It doesn't really matter, since its beauty is in the words.
The Joker and the Thief makes sense as well. The transformation in John Wesley Harding was eye opening. I know these songs by heart but till now they didn't have your insight. This has helped me go deeper.
Finally, you introduced me to some new songs, which seem like favorites already.
I hope you can do a couple of more shows on only the songs after 2000. I feel these are different in so many ways. More like the fourth part of the day. Since I'm there too, it would be comforting to get a better understanding or at least a different point of view.
My goal is to go over the series again and savor more. I thank the day I found you and your work.
