This is a continuation in the adventures of Shelby a young mermaid who fell in love with a fisherman after he released her from his fishing net. They both fell madly in love with each other but had to depart as most would say, "A love never meant to be". But as the story continues, Shelby is missing and her sister Tina learns she has gone off to seek guidance from the all wise "Mother of Pearl".
Her fisherman love in the meantime, is love sick and gloomy as he gives up the life at sea, for a job driving a Truck for the Big Smokey Mountain Oyster Company. All because he can't cope with the loss of his mermaid love who he thinks he'll never see again. Through the help of friends and a talking flying fish from Part One, Shelby, the "mermaid" and her love, Jasper, " the fisherman" have one more chance to be reunited....but can it ever really be? Shelby says Yes, and swims upward in blind faith in search of the answer. So in essence, the moral of this story is to trust what your heart tells you, even if others say impossible...listen to your heart.
