Default-piece-image-2 This past weekend Seattle Mariner's announcer Dave Niehaus was inducted into the major league baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown, New York. The 73 year-old announcer known for signature calls like "Fly away!" and "My, Oh My!" has been the Mariner's lead broadcaster since the team began playing in the old Kingdome in Seattle in 1977. In a 2000 interview with KUOW's Dave Beck, Dave Niehaus spoke about how baseball is the perfect game for radio. He says the national pastime lends itself well to gifted story tellers with a strong sense of history and mythology. KRAK
