A wonderful concert by the late wizard of keys and sounds: Joe Zawinul. He brought his syndicate to the 2007 North Sea Festival for this recording, one of his last concert appearances. Bassist Linley Marthe and drummer Karim Ziad both play in Zawinul?s band. They also are the core of Paris Touch, with Bojan Z. on piano and Julien Lourau on saxophones. On the second half of our show, Paris Touch gives us an intriguing sample from the jazz micro-cosmos of the French capital. Daniel Frankl hosts.
