Piece Description

Yesterday, Today Concept Yesterday Today, a one-hour program holiday-pegged for the years 1950-1980, takes listeners on a pleasant journey to another year and day with our premiere show set on July 4th, 1964. Format Yesterday, Today plays the big hits of the program date (accompanied by back story on the artists), plus national news, sports news, feature stories, entertainment reviews and commercials from that day. From open to close, the program is presented in the present tense of the program date, with the host "in character" the entire time. It is important to note that Yesterday, Today is not intended to exactly duplicate the format of a radio program from the play date, but rather to create an impressionistic audio landscape that uses music and historical information to capture the mood and feeling of the day. It is an emotional portal as opposed to an academic exercise. This format also frees us from concern for the way in which radio personas have changed over the years, allowing the host to maintain a consistent personality from show to show. The Host Genial and knowledgeable, Scott Greggory is the perfect host for Yesterday, Today, with an on-air resume that includes hosting "Love Notes" on 105.5 WWWM, in Toledo, Ohio and starring in hundreds of local and regional radio commercials. As a history and pop culture buff, Scott's knowledge and thoughtful insights about the music and events of every program's focus date bring that period to life in a uniquely entertaining fashion.. As Scott puts it, "When I listen to radio, I like hearing the back-story about the music and artists. Our show tells those stories in a unique way, by presenting the information from a perspective of 40 or 50 years ago." The Producer Toby Oothoudt brings over 35 years experience as an award - winning writer, director and producer to the creation of Yesterday, Today. His love for radio, music and history are fully realized in a program that allows the listener to be fully immersed in the ambiance of the show date and bathed in the golden glow of "The good old days". Series Schedule Yesterday, Today will offer eight programs a year with shows produced and date pegged for play on Christmas, New Years Day, Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Per Show Program Package: One hour edition of Yesterday, Today One 25 second program promo Yesterday, Today is a Radio 314 production. Copyright 2008 Marvin Oothoudt tobyo@bex.net
