Default-piece-image-2 The Cooper-Hewitt design museum has teamed up with several New Orleans Public Schools to teach kids design concepts by using hands on projects. Today we visit the Design Expo and talk with some students about projects they have been working on. One project we will focus on is the redesign of the Chalmette High School courtyard. After Katrina the courtyard was badly flooded. The students were given the opportunity to redesign it themselves. In an effort to welcome the many students who came to Chalmette after the storm, the students designed a mosaic featuring all the mascots of the schools that did not reopen after Katrina.
