Transcript for the Piece Audio version of American Idol Comes to the Ballpark
Here at Turner Field on the Terrace Level, across from aisle 228, there?s a makeshift audition booth, with lights, video camera and a microphone. People are lining up to belt out their own version of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
[Kenny singing fade up? mixed so two following versions blend in, picking up the lyrics (Note: I have included a sample mix, at the end of the TRKS)]

That was Kenny Hightower from Tallahassee, Florida, a group of college friends from the University of Georgia and Cody Roberts from Winfield, Alabama.
Austin Rhodes - one of the Braves? judges ? has heard dozens of performances like these, and he?s still enthusiastic.
I think people are just excited about the game and excited about the season, and coming by and actually getting a chance to sing and get on line at the very least ? that?s what gets them most.
There are plenty of lame acts. Some have forgotten the words,

Some just walked away, unable to stand the pressure of performing.
But a few have had star quality.

Some performers sing their own renditions. Marvele Spader was inspired by rapper M.C. Hammer.

There?s this group of guys in their 20s from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who think they have what it takes to win. They?re flexing their muscles, waving their beer bottles, and getting into it.
We sound pretty good. It?s like a cross between N?sinc, Backstreet Boys, and 98 degrees, but all the heterosexual elements of each.
But Jason Rice thinks the contest has a bigger meaning.
?.To go up on top of the dugout and lead 45 thousand people in a chant that everybody knows, everybody knows, is a big honor.

And to cover his bases, Rice sings a version in Spanish.
