Candice Ludlow spoke with a Chicago music teacher who made the pilgrimage to Memphis to pay his respects to his favorite bluesmen. Topping his list was a visit to the gravesite of Will Shade of the popular Memphis Jug Band. Leach decided that Will Shade needed a stone to mark his grave, so he took it upon himself to organize a concert earlier this year at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. Charlie Musselwhite, a former student of Shade?s, headlined the Will Shade benefit. Yesterday, while receiving the honor of a brass note on Beale, Musselwhite talked about the last time he saw his friend Will Shade.
