Patt Morrison interviews California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Read the full description.

Kpcclogoc_small 89.3 KPCC-FM Host Patt Morrison interviewed California Governor Schwarzenegger Wednesday April 30 at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills. Schwarzenegger discusses California's budget deficit, his call for a ten percent across-the-board spending cut, and his desire to find new sources of revenue for the state. He says the initiative process has in some instances been "abused," and that he would like to sit down with Republicans and Democrats to "revisit" the way the process is structured. The governor reiterates his call for the creation of a "rainy day fund" when state revenues are up, to guard against times such as these, when revenues are down. He remarks that he was at times "too aggressive" and "impatient" in his early days as governor, but adds that he learned from his mistakes, and now understands the need to work with -- not against -- the state legislature. Schwarzenegger refuses to get specific about his plans beyond the end of his term in 2010, but he confirms that he is willing to have a cameo role in the "Terminator 4" sequel if it is filmed in California.
