Piece Description
Erich Wolfgang Korngold, who lived from 1897 until 1957, was a child prodigy. He was a serious composer who moved to Hollywood to become a composer of film scores after the Nazis took over Austria. He was very disappointed not to be equally recognized during his lifetime as a serious composer of classical music. During this hour producer/presenter Fred Flaxman demonstrates that he deserves that recognition. Included are the first movement from Korngold's "Trio in D, Op. 1;" his "Violin Concerto in D, Op. 35"; and his incidental music to "Much Ado About Nothing."
