Review of PorkchopI think it's unfortunate that I had to choose "experimental, offbeat and esoteric" to place this piece because I wish stuff like this was much more common, and that more people would get it. Chelsea has done a few like this that I like a lot. I also find this amusing. If you use it, don't introduce it, just play the sucker and then don't say anything but "Produced by Chelsea Merz" and leave it be. Those that get it will love you for it, those that don't aren't gonna like it no matter what your explanation will be. More people will get it than won't. |

Review of Porkchop
Interesting piece. A miniature. It is an audio analogy to a small collage, with just 3 or 4 textures and images. Very accessible, once you get past the idea that it is only what it is and doesn't try to be anything else. Regarding formats, I don't know where this could go without some sort of introduction that balances its quirkiness with its ordinariness. Very appealing, but may leave some listeners saying "So?"
